The guiding philosophy of Cal Athletics is to provide our 875 scholar-athletes with a well-rounded student-athlete experience, complete with first-rate opportunities for their athletic, academic and personal growth.

The Cal Athletics Fund is the fundraising and alumni relations arm of UC Berkeley’s Intercollegiate Athletics Department, Cal Athletics. We are a staff of dedicated fundraisers, donor stewardship and events experts who proudly advance the Cal Athletics mission every day.

Every year, the Cal Athletics Fund fundraises for UC Berkeley’s 30 varsity athletic programs. We are charged with raising the philanthropic dollars that directly impact every sport’s annual fund, student-athlete scholarships, endowment funds and the unrestricted Cal Athletics Fund. We also fundraise for special, student-athlete-driven initiatives and for capital projects. Independent of every sport’s philanthropic goals, the Cal Athletics Fund primarily supports student-athlete scholarships across our student-athlete community. Together, our donors contribute between $20 through $35 million dollars per year, comprising roughly 25% of the intercollegiate athletics department’s revenue.

As a donor to Cal Athletics and member of the Cal Athletics Fund, you are a valued part of the Cal Family. Your commitment allows Cal Athletics to invest in the futures of Cal student-athletes while pursuing conference and national championships as well as academic excellence.

Thank you for your support. Fiat Lux and Go Bears!

“I chose Cal because it resonates well with who I am, both academically and athletically. The atmosphere is a breath of fresh air to me, I feel empowered when I step on campus. Furthermore, I am fueled by the expectations that are present whenever I sport my Cal gear. I am energized by the sole thought of representing UC Berkeley.”
